The Friends Association
The current Association of the Friends was formed in November 2016, and we have since been working for the school, parents and community to raise funds which provide fun activities and extra equipment for the children.
The Friends are a group of parents and carers who give up some of their free time to raise funds for extra equipment or activities in school. Our aim is to organise fun events throughout the year, whilst at the same time raising money which enables the association to provide extra equipment and opportunities for the school and children.
The type of events that have been held in the past by previous "Friends" include Disco's, Beetle Drives, Quiz Nights, Treasure Hunts, Film Nights, and of course the Christmas and Summer Fayres.
To date, the money raised has been utilised on various aspects of school life including contributing to a building extension, school trips, Christmas trees and lights (and Christmas Festivities).
Regular meetings are held at the school during which we discuss fundraising (and requests for funding), and planning for forthcoming events. The Committee is made up of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and other committee members. The Headteachers are also members of the committee. We also have parents who volunteer at events on an ad-hoc basis.
Our Lady and St Peter's may be a relatively small school but the community spirit within it exceeds that of much larger establishments. Upcoming events are published on the website, and are in the school newsletters. Make sure you keep up to date with any organised events, come along and have fun!
